Meet the Windmill Chiropractic Wellness Center Staff

Dr. Tom Gargiula

dr-g-2017

I created Windmill Chiropractic Wellness with my wife, Sue, in 1994. It was our dream to create what you see before you; a Christian, healing environment that focuses on two things: Family Wellness Care and people who have been everywhere and have lost the hope to regain their health. We are here to help. I grew up in New York and came to St. Louis to go to Logan College of Chiropractic. While in St. Louis, I fell in love with the Mid-west and with my future wife. Staying here to fulfill our dreams quickly became our priority.

I LOVE being a chiropractor.

Over the years I have studied, practiced, and advanced the most gentle and specific techniques available in chiropractic. Now, certified to teach these advanced techniques, I instruct and help other doctors of chiropractic everywhere.

My heart goes out to children, wanting to see them healthy for a lifetime. I also have a special place for those who have lost hope. Too many people have been “everywhere” to try to find the hope that they lost and to improve their health. Many of them have given up… until they are told about the special type of care they can get at Windmill Chiropractic Wellness Center. It is typically the confidence that our practice members have in Windmill, our Team and our abilities, as their main reason for referring others to our Wellness Center. In fact, you were probably referred in the same manner. I am grateful you are here. I look forward to serving you with my highest and best ability, with love and compassion.

I also enjoy speaking to groups in our community. If you belong to a group who has regular speakers, I can speak on a variety of health and wellness topics. Just let me know who to contact to make the arrangements.

You may see my family coming in to get adjusted on a weekly basis. Sue and I are very blessed to have four wonderful children. They add such joy to my life. I have many blessings in my life and they are on the top of the list.

Please know that I am available to you at any time. If you ever have a question or an emergency, and it is not during office hours, you can always call me on my cell phone at (314) 708-4120 or send an e-mail to me at drg4ldt@gmail.com.

Shawn Reiter, DC, CFMP

Dr. Shawn

I was born in California but raised in St. Louis. I graduated from Hazelwood Central and spent five years in the Marine Corps before making my decision to attend chiropractic college. I graduated from Logan in December 1998 and have been in practice in the South County area since 1999. My family is complete with my wonderful wife, Teri – she has served as an administrator for Delmar Gardens for nearly 20 years and loves working with our wiser adults; and my two amazing kids: my daughter Sydnie and my son Blake.

I am a teacher and a facilitator helping in the healing process through my knowledge of chiropractic, functional medicine, nutrition and lifestyle education. I dedicate my working life to the study of health and dis-ease. I share whatever wellness truths I uncover and guide my practice members and their families to reaching health and an outstanding quality of life. I believe that true health can only be achieved by proper knowledge and active participation by all parties involved. When interference (stress) in your life is removed, the body stops breaking down. When tone is restored to the nervous system, the body moves in the direction of healing and repairing itself – as God created our human bodies to do.

The post-graduate upper cervical technique that I specialize in focuses on removing nervous system “interference” or subluxations. When adjustments are focused specifically at the brainstem, or “fusebox” of the nervous system, greater communication is allowed for the electrical impulses of the brain to reach all the areas of the body, uninhibited. Other adjustment styles are used and necessary to assist the body to change, adapt and heal. There are only four upper cervical doctors in St. Louis, and two of us are here at Windmill. We are also one of the very few offices in the metropolitan area that has developed a chiropractic lifestyle and nutrition program centered in “true wellness” and not simply treating pain and symptoms.

I want our Windmill practice members to know that I have a passion for learning and sharing everything I know about health. I teach monthly workshops here in the office on a number of nutrition-related topics and have designated hours for nutritional consultation, as well. If I can help to educate you and/or a group that you are a part of, please let me know, as I am available for speaking and health screening engagements.

Please know I am available to you at any time. Scheduled appointment times are appreciated on the days I am in the office. However, questions and emergencies do arrive, so please do not hesitate to contact me. My cell phone number is (314) 409-3990 and my email is sreiter04@gmail.com.

Dr. Nick Hagan

Dr. NickI was born in Columbia, Missouri to a wonderful, supporting family. Growing up, I was very active- involved in soccer, basketball, skateboarding, swimming and more. By over-exerting myself, I began to suffer from poor gut health, horrible allergies, many aches and pains, and skin problems. Miraculously, at the age of 10, I was introduced to Chiropractic. After experiencing immediate and sustaining results, I was fired up to do nothing else but return the gift of health to others.

Now, as a graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic and Associate of Windmill Chiropractic, my passion to serve has ignited into a global vision.

“My mission is to change the face of healthcare in the world by providing answers to people about their health, inspiring people to take responsibility of their health, and deliver tailor-made Wellness Care for each individual person.”

I look forward to connecting with you and your family here at Windmill Chiropractic and sharing the gift of health!

Dr. Camille McClendon

Dr. Camille

Greetings! I am Dr. Camille McClendon. I am a graduate of the Prestigious Logan College of Chiropractic having earned my Doctorate of Chiropractic, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Sciences from Logan University. Previously, I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry from Millikin University.

I have a passion for helping others understand the true healing capabilities of the body. My core philosophy is that the body has the ability to self-sustain, self-maintain, and self-heal. I believe that is true health and wellness. I am a giver at heart and believe that the most precious gift that I can give is the gift of health through Chiropractic care. I spread this gift through participating in community health fairs, speaking engagements, mentoring, and providing health and wellness workshops.

I reside in St. Louis, MO and enjoy spending quality time with my beautiful family, especially my grandmother and niece, Demi. Family health is essential to me and I have accepted the call to help improve the health of as many families that I can during my lifetime.

Mary Jo Wagner

Mary Jo

Mary Jo Wagner is a hands-on physical therapist specializing in manual therapy which includes: Myofacial Release, Strain-Counterstrain, Craniosacral Therapy, Muscle Energy and Massage Therapy. Her post-graduate training has been centered around Osteopathic Manual Therapy, and she has been in practice for twenty-eight years, running her own business for fifteen of those. Mary Jo has worked for multidisciplinary hospitals in Missouri, Illinois, and Alaska. This has included acute care, outpatients, home health and nursing home.

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Each Myofascial Release Treatment session is performed directly on skin without oils, creams or machinery, enabling the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate release of the fascia.

Strain-Counterstrain is a hands-on treatment that attempts to alleviate muscle and connective tissue tightness by the use of very specific treatment positions held for 90 seconds (or longer if needed). During the procedure, the involved tissue is “slackened” causing a relaxation of the “spasm” which, in turn, allows local areas of inflammation, trapped within the painful tissue to dissipate. Following this “release” there is an immediate reduction of pain and tension in the involved tissue. This relaxation aims to restore normal joint mobility and release other structures in the region that may have been compressed.

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the craniosacral system – comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

Muscle Energy Technique is a manual therapy that uses the gentle muscle contractions of the patient to relax and lengthen muscles and normalize joint motion.

Mary Jo has found success in working with a wide variety of patients and especially with individuals who have not responded well to conventional therapies for pain reduction. She has found that these manual therapies address systems of the body that are otherwise ignored and through this neglect can cause significant negative changes in lifestyle. These therapies have been proven to increase the rate of mental and physical healing. Mary Jo firmly believes in breathwork and meditation to reduce stress, and she incorporates these into her sessions. She has a deep love for her work and helping others and she treats each patient according to their specific individual needs.
